It has been an exciting few weeks for Warwick School cricket, with several of our pupils achieving some fantastic milestones for their clubs.
Last weekend, four Warwick School cricketers — Xavier, Waris, Arthur and George — represented Wellesbourne U13s in the final of the ECB U13 National Cup, played at the iconic Lord’s Nursery Ground, the home of cricket.
And they won!
It was a fantastic achievement for the boys and a memorable day that they will hopefully never forget. To be presented with the trophy in front of the famous Lord’s Pavilion — a place where cricketers from around the world have dreamed of playing — made the occasion even more special.
Congratulations, boys, on an incredible achievement!
Our senior cricketers have also enjoyed considerable success in recent weeks.
Bertie played for Banbury U17s and U19s, with both teams going on to win their respective Oxfordshire T20 Cups. A fantastic double achievement and a great experience for Bertie as he continues to develop his cricket at senior level.
Meanwhile, Yash, playing for Leamington Cricket Club 1st XI, scored his maiden senior hundred, making an excellent 116 against Shifnal to help secure victory for his team. A maiden hundred is a significant milestone for any cricketer, and scoring it for a club 1st XI makes the achievement all the more impressive. Yash will no doubt be hoping that this is the first of many hundreds — and that he can reproduce some of that form in a Warwick School shirt over the next two years!
Well done to all six boys. It is fantastic to see Warwick School cricketers representing their clubs so successfully and achieving at such a high level.
