On Sunday September 20, Warwick boys competed in the English Schools Ski Association (ESSkiA) Midland regional qualifying race at Swadlincote.
There were two Warwick teams skiing with an experienced U19/Cat 4 team of Josh, Monty, Charlie and Fenton and a new U14/Cat 2 team of Freddie, Theo, Nick and Edward, racing for Warwick their first time.
All the boys skied really well during the day. Up against strong local rivals Solihull and various other teams from the Midlands area, it was fantastic that the U19s managed to win their age group and thus earn an invitation to the ESSkiA national finals weekend at Norwich in October.
Credit also must go to the U14’s who were all racing in their first competition for Warwick, finishing second in their category. Thanks to all the parents and support staff for their help on the day.
We now look forward to Norwich where as well as the age group championships, the goal will be to try to qualify for the British Schools to be held in Edinburgh in November.
